When Do Patients Need Zygomatic Implants?
Normally, implants are placed in the maxilla to replace missing teeth in the upper jaw. However, some patients have such severe bone loss that there isn't enough to place an implant safely. In this case, longer implant screws can be used to reach the cheekbones, which are used as an anchor instead.
